This Privacy Policy explains how Price Mirror ("the extension"), operated by 99ecommerceexperts ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the extension. Price Mirror is built to work without accounts, tracking, or advertising, and this policy describes exactly what that means in practice.

1. Information the extension reads

When you open the Price Mirror popup on a product page, the extension reads details visible on that page — such as the product title, price, description, images, and store/vendor name — so it can search for matching listings elsewhere. It only reads the page you're actively viewing when you interact with the extension; it does not run in the background monitoring every page you visit.

2. What's stored on your device

Price Mirror uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to keep:

  • A history of products and prices you've viewed, so you can track changes over time.
  • Your current popup session state, so the extension feels responsive between clicks.

This data stays on your device. We don't operate a server-side database of your browsing or purchase activity, and we don't have access to this local history.

3. What's shared with third-party services, and why

Two extension features involve sending limited product data to outside services, only when you actively use them:

  • Compare Prices: the product details from the page you're viewing (title, URL, price, vendor, description) are sent to our backend, which uses OpenAI's search-enabled API to find competitor listings. This request contains product information only — not your name, email, or any account identifier, because Price Mirror doesn't have those to begin with.
  • Affiliate link resolution: for some retailers, the product URL is sent to our backend or an affiliate network (such as Cuelinks) to generate a tracked link. For Amazon, this is done directly in the extension by adding a standard affiliate tag to the URL, with no external request involved. If no affiliate link can be generated, you're sent to the original product page.

We don't sell any data, and we don't use it for advertising.

4. Permissions the extension requests, explained

  • storage — to save your local price history and session state on your device.
  • activeTab and scripting — to read product details from the page you're currently viewing when you open the popup.
  • host permissions (all sites) — because Price Mirror can be used on any Shopify-powered store, rather than a fixed list of domains, Chrome requires this broader permission for the extension to read the active page wherever you choose to use it.

5. Analytics, ads, and tracking

Price Mirror does not include analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or third-party trackers. We don't build a profile of you, and there's no cross-site tracking.

6. Data retention and your choices

Your local price history stays on your device until you clear it. You can remove it at any time by clearing the extension's storage through Chrome's settings, or by uninstalling Price Mirror. Since we don't hold this data ourselves, there's nothing on our end to separately delete.

7. Children's privacy

Price Mirror is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how Price Mirror handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
